General Information about the Sport

Starts:

Starts will have an interval of 3 minutes in the competition categories. Athletes should be aware of their time of departure. In the start, the athletes must pass through three consecutive sections.

When the start clock indicates the athlete's starting time, the athlete must enter the first section. This will take place 3 minutes before the actual departure. The name and race bib number of the athlete shall be confirmed there (the bib shall be used at the front and shall not be folded or covered up). The absence of bib will prevent the athlete from leaving.

In the second section, the athlete collects the signage, which contains the description of the location of the control points. The signage will also be printed on the map.

In the third (last) section, the athlete moves to the box that contains the map of his categorie and waits until the time of departure, without seeing the map. At the time of departure, the athlete draws the map from the box (each athlete is responsible for taking the map and confirming that it corresponds to his rank) and follows the markers that mark the course to the triangle of the start (indicated on the ground by a beacon and marked on the map by a triangle).

Athletes who arrive late for departure will be immediately identified and will leave as soon as the organization indicates. They will not receive a new departure time.

The course is marked from the starting line (reception of the map and start of the race) to the triangle marked on the map and materialized on the ground by a beacon without a code or control station. Athletes should progress within 10 m of the marked course, otherwise they will be disqualified.

Finish:

All athletes must cross the finish line and control the Finish station. After arrival they should download the chip (SI-Card), even if they did not complete the entire route. If this does not happen, they may be considered lost and trigger a search operation.

Assistance in Case of Accident:

All athletes in competition are obliged to assist other athletes in case of an accident. Any accident that occurs during the execution of the course is the responsibility of the racers, in all that exceeds the risk covered by the Sports Insurance. This insurance covers the risks resulting from the accident suffered during the activity, under the conditions set out in the Competition Rules of the FPO.

Other General Rules:

  1. The only auxiliary guidance device allowed is the compass.

  2. The participants who arrive for departure after their time of departure, shall depart after the authorization of the organization, subjecting themselves to the penalty of time that has elapsed in the meantime.

  3. Obligations of the athletes include, among others, :
